Windows 11 Receives Major Upgrade Featuring Copilot, AI-Enhanced Paint, Snipping Tool and More

The technology giant Microsoft has started releasing major Windows 11 updates. These updates include new features and improvements such as Copilot, AI improvements to the Paint and Snipping Tool, background blur screen in Photos, Windows Backup and more.

“We spend a lot of time on our computers, and time is precious. That’s why Windows is on a mission to make everyday things easier, faster and more effortless with new features like Windows Copilot,” Yusuf Mehdi, the company’s vice president and director of consumer marketing, said in a blog post.

Copilot on the Windows screen: The AI-powered Windows Copilot brings Bing Chat directly to the Windows 11 desktop. It appears as a sidebar, making it easy to manage computer settings, open applications or answer questions. Microsoft also integrates Copilot into many parts of Windows.

To get started, find the Copilot icon in the taskbar or press WIN + C to launch Copilot in Windows using the same Microsoft account (MSA) or Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) account that you sign in to in Windows. .

Microsoft is also adding AI-powered features to Paint, the Snipping Tool, and Windows 11’s Photos app.

The image editor now has artificial intelligence-based drawing and digital creation tools, such as background removal, layer support, and Co-creator preview.

“Cocreator unleashes your creativity by simply entering a text prompt, choosing a style, and creating a unique image. You can then use Paint’s other tools to further refine your creations,” the company explains.

Access these enhancements by searching for “Paint” in your search box or app list, and you’re ready to create, design, and express yourself like never before.

Another feature is Microsoft Clipchamp. Microsoft Clipchamp can help you tie it all together with enhanced AI tools like auto-typing.

This new feature built into Clipchamp helps you get a head start on editing with a few simple questions about the type of video you’re developing.

From there, Clipchamp provides you with recommended scenes, edits and narration – all based on your input and creative content and with a few simple clicks. When you’re done, easily save it to OneDrive or Google Drive, post to social channels like TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn, or upload it to YouTube.

Snipping Tool AI update: After announcing Snipping Tool’s screen recording capabilities earlier this year, Microsoft is now allowing users to capture audio with voice and microphone support, all within Snipping Tool.

You can use the screen recording feature by pressing Win + Shift + R or Print Screen. To further enhance your workflow with the Snipping Tool, the company adds two new text functions – extracting and editing text.

Background Blur Screen in Photos: The company has also added background blur and improved search features in Photos.

“With improved search features, it’s now easier to find specific photos in the Photos app, especially photos backed up to OneDrive. Just type keywords and objects you remember from the photo to quickly find the photos and memories you’re looking for.

Whether you’re searching by items, places or dates, the Photos app streamlines the process and shows you relevant photos in seconds, the company said.

Background blur offers a way to effortlessly improve image resolution and achieve stylish blur effects.
